Chicken with manky comb - what is it?

I have no idea what is going on with her. Other than the 'thing' she appears to be in good health. The black bits look almost like fowl pox - the larger brown lesion ? A visit to an avian specialist might help. Personally, as long as she is enjoying her sort of live, I would let her be.
Thanks- I am enclined to agree.
Will post follow up pics.

6 months follow up as promised...
She dissapeared for a bit but is back in the mornings for food. No idea where she sleeps.
Still very wild. The lesion no longer obstructs her vision, I think because it has got bigger. She still seems pretty happy. Neighbors say she is at least 10 years old.

I have to say that I've never seen anything like that in my life. It looks more like a rhino horn than a comb.
She's probably sleeping in a tree or bush somewhere. Do you ever follow her at dusk to see where she sleeps?
If she just shows up for food in the morning and then disappears again, she may have a hidden nest.

So you probably don't have as many predators as we do. Is there a chicken coop on the property for new birds?
If you get some and keep them confined for a few days so they will instinctively go in at dusk and they become friends with the old girl, she may go in at night eventually.
I doubt her problem is contagious. Whatever it is, it surely isn't deadly or she whouldn't have lived this long.
