Chicken with Marek's? Help! UPDATE: HAVE TO CULL HER :(

Updated to say she is not going to make it. When DH gets home in an hour, we will cull her. Poor girl's body parts are completely contorted from an apparent paralysis on her left side, and she just lays and twitches. I feel terrible for her.

So sorry for your girl.
I know how you feel. Mine BSL hen aspirated last night and passed.

OH, hon - I'm so sorry; I lost track of your thread, and just checked in to see how she was. I actually don't think this is Marek's from what you're now describing; I could be wrong, but it almost sounds like a neurological injury (like a bump to her head or something). I'm so sorry! Do you think it's something like wry neck?

If you think it might be wry neck, I believe you can use Poly-Vi-Sol (NO IRON) and that may help - do a search on here. I'm not that familiar with it, but I feel like it's due to a mineral deficiency. Is that right, Cammy?

Ummmm... well, shoot - I wish I had read the responses 20 mins ago. She is not suffering any more, in any case.

Thanks to all for the responses, though - I will read up on wry neck and will be better prepared next time.

Awe...I'm sorry, but I'm glad you were able to make the decision that seemed right. That's all we can do.
