Chicken with possible respiratory infection? (Breathing issues and lethargic)

Seems like she got a little worse, her breathing now seems more rapid and I can literally hear her breathing now, it sounds like a low whistle, also I think I might see tiny bubbles around her eyes now. Overall it’s not looking too good.. is there anything I can give her at all to maybe make her breathe better? I put some electrolytes and probiotics in her water but I don’t think she drank any.

I see her gasping after she's drank water, do look inside her beak for any lesions or canker. Tell us what her crop feels like and when she laid her last egg. While you are looking her over, check for lice or mites.

No, I wouldn't give her an epsom salts bath, she's too lethargic.
You can use a spray bottle with soapy water or diluted chlorhexidine to help spray off her backside to remove some of the poop. Dry her well.

Her crop isn’t hard or anything, I think she’s only had water today. Not sure when she had her last egg I’m not home for most of the day (is there a certain way to tell when was the last time they laid?) I didn’t see any lice or mites but I’ll make sure to really look later.

Sadly I already gave her an epsom salt bath, I made sure to blow dry her feathers and underside after though.

Vet RX is used to help with breathing I don't know of anything else. I hope you find her still alive this morning.

Sorry that she seemed worse last night. I hope she pulls through. Vet Rx which is only herbal (oregano, rosemary, balsam) oils with camphor, can be used but I’m not sure that would open her airways and improve her breathing any more than Vicks salve. A cooler area with good air circulation can help with respiratory problems. It would be good to know if she has MG which can have secondary infection and affect the air sacs, now that you see foam in the eye, or if she has something like canker in her beak, throat, or crop, that is affecting breathing. Worms can also add to the problem. Valbazen or SafeGuard can be used for worms. Canker has a bad odor, and usually looks like yellow or pale material inside the beak or on the tongue. It is treated with metronidazole antibiotic or acidified copper sulfate taken in the water. Do you have any antibiotics or can you get any from your vet? For MG, Tylosin, Denagard, Doxycycline, enrofloxacin, or oxytetracycline can be used. What is your general location? That can help us to know what you have access to in medicines. Let us know how she gets along.

She survived most of the night but died early this morning, I wish I could have done more for her. At least she isn’t suffering anymore, but it’s very sad that she passed.

I’m thinking of sending her body in for a necropsy, I’ve never done this before. Any suggestions on where to send the body? I live in California and will probably send the body off tomorrow just to make sure that she didn’t have anything that could spread to the other chickens.

So sorry for your loss. California is one of the best places to live for a necropsy for a low price, with 4 multiple locations to take or send the body, and very good vet pathologists at UC Davis to do cultures, and look at tissue samples. You can take or ship the body overnight via FedEx or UPS with a prepaid shipping label. Keep the body cold, in a cooler on ice, wrapped in 2 plastic garbage bags.
