Chickens and Pigs Question

Speaking from experience; I have kept my pigs with chickens, horses, sheep and goats. The pigs were always the first in when I called! Never had a problem with diseases at all. They had pasture to roam on and didnt seem to bother each other at all.
OTOH--my uncle had pics in the corner of his coop. If a chicken landed on the edge of the pen the pig ate it pronto! But then again, he didnt take very good care of his critters!

Not necessarily. Horses are skittish around anything they are not used to. My Percheron mare was unfazed around pigs but came unglued at the sight of an ostrich.

I have heard from many " old time" farmers and a brilliant doctor who raises farm animals that Pigs and Chickens need to be kept very far apart. The reason is that birds, humans and pigs can pass flu virus to each other. I just pulled up the CDC page and asked that question and they confirmed that the mixing of pigs and chickens can create SUPER BUGS!!!!! Have you guys ever heard of Swine Flu! H1N1? I think my farm will not have pigs just to be safe Just goats , cows, ducks and lots and lots of CHICKENS!!!!! God Bless and thank you for your BackYard Chickens!!!!!

Back in the Dark Ages when I was growing up there were a lot of small family farms. All of them had cows, chickens, and hogs. Some of them had other livestock too like horses, sheep, and/or goats, but they ALL had hogs, chickens, and cows.

The last 30 years of experience tells me that your answer from vtmom30 is the best answer you will get.
It does depend on the pig but as you stated you are getting piglets, they will be raised knowing that chickens are not dinner as long as dinner is sufficient in nutrition.
I have horses, donkeys, chickens, quail, geese, pea fowl, guinea, pigeons, sheep, muscovey and regular ducks, a potbelly and a julian oh and I just got 2 Jersey calves because as you can tell I didn't have enough! My pot belly (Maddie) and one of the roosters (Leo) are great friends they lay and sun together and I don't mean they lay close, I mean they are touching!
As far as the virus thing is concerned, virus must be brought in so if you practice the good habit of keeping new animals quarantined upon arrival you should be good and when I am sick I just use that to my advantage after all like I tell the kids "you want ME to feed what if I make the animals sick!"
