in the Reader's Digest 'Back to Basics" they had a suggestion of a set up for how to put all your animals for a small self-sufficient farm and they seemed to have the rabbits and chickens together in the same coop. It made some sense to me because I knew my dad had raised rabbits in a coop before, but I had never seen it happen together. Then shortly before Easter I purchased 2 rabbits from a man that had his running with the chickens.
My rabbits are in the coop, but in a brooder.....not on the ground. Not that I'm afraid; just that when I allow free-ranging, I know they would get away and not return.

Last year, I had all the little chicks in with our rabbit - it was quite a hoot. I'd come home and the rabbit would be laying there with chicks on her back and curled up beside her. Our hutch is huge, so there was plenty of room for them. Once they got bigger, I moved them to the coop
