Chickens are making LOUD noise

I have one barred rock drama queen that sings the the "Habanera" aria from Carmen every time she lays one of her little ping pong balls.

Yup, my 4 barred rocks started yelling for the first time yesterday and no eggs, but then today after the yelling, there were 3 eggs!! One needs to learn to lay in the nest and not on the coup run but that will come I hope. Very exciting!!

yea my girls sang like that for about a week before they started laying....now they all sing anytime one of them gets in the nesting boxes....it can get quite noisy lol.

I was shocked at first at how loud my girls could be - they were practically yelling. I often joke that they sound more like geese than chickens!

I have a welsummer who is quite vocal anytime I come around. It kind of sounds like the egg laying song I have heard in videos online but she isn't laying eggs yet. Oh well I guess some chicks are just loud haha!
