Chickens at night coop

My kids (37 and 40) go nuts when I start talking to my birds....I say "Hi" if they are out working,,,they think someone is here..then say "oh, that's right you talk to the birds"

That's just hilarious! My daughter is ten, soon to be eleven, and always wants to help with the birds but fails to remember slow movement is best. My son, sixteen years old, just thinks they are the cutest.

This Is the coop/run we bought them and the new run we are working on for them.

yes, we found that out the hard way like 250 dollars the hard way and it's flimsy. We intend to make the coop bigger too.

Yes they are. Hence why we are building new run and coop addition. My husband tied rebarb to it

Yea. We were pretty dissappointed which is why we are building a new run and then building an addition to the coop.

Have your chicks made progress in going to bed? i raised mine with a heating pad cave and no heat lamps, so when they moved outside they were already accustomed to a day-night cycle. They hesitated to enter the dark coop but they always went in after about 10 minutes of frantic peeping. You may want to try positioning the inside light in such a way that it provides indirect lighting, maybe tuck a flashlight into a nesting box and point it away from the door?
