Hi
well I never thought I would find the day that I joined a poultry forum but seen as a lot of my questions have brought me hear over the past few months I thought I might as well join in
Im rich and I live in Garstang in the UK. After moving house in August 19 to our forever home, we started off with 4 hens and a cockerel, which after a hatch, a bit more shopping, a couple of giveaways and a wandering cockerel is now 6 hens, 4 teenage kids, 3 more chicks, a pair of runner ducks (with mum currently sitting on 5 eggs) a pair of call ducks and then an extra female call duck called Olaf who thinks she’s a chicken. We also have a baby runner called donny, who’s mum is a hen who sat on the egg and they are now inseparable.
the original chick mummy has also disappeared and we’ve only seen a couple of times recently so presuming there’s a nest full of chicks to come again
there’s also plenty of cats in our field who don’t bother with the birds at all and tend to just wander through them, and now the squirrels have started hanging out as well. So it’s all one big happy family at the moment.
