Hi

well I never thought I would find the day that I joined a poultry forum but seen as a lot of my questions have brought me hear over the past few months I thought I might as well join in

Im rich and I live in Garstang in the UK. After moving house in August 19 to our forever home, we started off with 4 hens and a cockerel, which after a hatch, a bit more shopping, a couple of giveaways and a wandering cockerel is now 6 hens, 4 teenage kids, 3 more chicks, a pair of runner ducks (with mum currently sitting on 5 eggs) a pair of call ducks and then an extra female call duck called Olaf who thinks she’s a chicken. We also have a baby runner called donny, who’s mum is a hen who sat on the egg and they are now inseparable.

the original chick mummy has also disappeared and we’ve only seen a couple of times recently so presuming there’s a nest full of chicks to come again

there’s also plenty of cats in our field who don’t bother with the birds at all and tend to just wander through them, and now the squirrels have started hanging out as well. So it’s all one big happy family at the moment.

I love it i have a crazy mixed-up flock too here in Northern Ohio, USA I have 36mixed chicks 8ducks 6turkeys 6geese 147 quail and 2dogs 4cats 3fish 3leopard frogs and a bunny

Ah excellent. We have a tortoise and a dog as well but the tortoise just likes to bite chick legs so we keep them out the way! That’s a lot of quail!
I know I got 150eggs anticipating them not all hatching well all but 3 did and now i have a lot its ok though that just means more eggs to pickle and eat and when they start to lay my mom has been wanting more quail and my dad said no so I gonna hatch some and take them over and put them in her pen and not tell him he can't yell if they are already there and I told my mom I will make her up 50lbs of handmade feed so she won't have to buy it and give her live mealworms (I raise them) whenever she needs them for a treat for them
