Chickens eat mice?

What a shame I can't let my chickens run around the kitchen then, the mice are driving me crazy!
why can't you?!

I think ours scared away the bunnies. I hope. Ugh.
They gleefully run-quickly!- and play "snatch the creature!" with each other! Normally worms or bugs the kids snagged for them. We don't have many things between small bird and large skunk sized here, so I'm not sure what else they have eaten. I haven't seen any with anything else at least!

I go to the ocean. We catch crabs, snails ect. Our chickens love them. They are funnyto watch chase the crabs. We declaw the crabs first.

I let 150 chickens run amok through my 7 acre yard and I didn't have one living thing in the yard all summer except plants. No crickets, hoppers, flies, spiders, snakes, frogs, mosquitos, or anything. I didn't even have to mow the grass as they kept it nice and short. I did have to take a few female snapping turtles out of the yard that were on there way to lay eggs as they were a bit much for the girls to tackle. Luckily the turtles never got a clean "shot" at any of my girls before I found them. The "Growl" from the roosters alerted me to their prescence before anything unfortunate happened.

I discovered real quick that 1.5 sq/ft is not enough space for a chicken. I learned that the hard way as I went through several iterations of construction trying to house and protect all 150 birds. I now have a 6X20 stock trailer that houses my 60 girls and 6 roosters. They are happy and content thus far and I have enough heat lamps inside to keep it a balmy 20 degrees F regardless of the outside temp.

I just released a mouse from a trap expecting it to head for the hills... well shelter... but before it got more than a few steps one of our hens came almost literally flying out of nowhere, grabbed it, shook it, killed it and started eating it. I thought this was really bizarre til I checked in here!! Wow... I never knew our hens were so good at pest control!! :D
