chickens eating eggs

hello all..very new to the chicken world....just got three mature laying hens to start. the first few days i had no eggs, normal from what i read, then i started getting one egg a day for the last few days. However the chickens are eating the eggs!!! is this normal?? how can i stop this??? any help would be great...i always check the coop first thing in the morning...

You can try giving them more protein and a bigger diet. Collect your eggs several times a day. Sadly, most egg eaters can't be broken of the habit.

If you really want the eggs you may have to cull these hens and raise others. I would not pass an egg eater off to another person. I would cull.
