No shell egg?

My chickens just started laying eggs for the first time, and 4/5 have been laying for about a month now. I only had one that wasn’t laying. Today, I checked the coop and there was an egg with no shell in the roosting area. Is this normal? It isn’t cracked or punctured, but there is yellow everywhere too.

That happens sometimes.

If it is just once, there is nothing to worry about.
If it happens regularly, then either a pullet is not getting enough calcium, or her body is not using the calcium properly.

Here is an article that talks about many odd kinds of eggs that happen sometimes. Most of them are caused by one-time glitches in the hen's body and are not a reason to worry.
