It was nice yesterday.. +5 Celsius, so I forced my flock to get some fresh air. They did not want to, but it was so sunny and the snow was melting!

You has to be kidding.. No way am I goin' out in that snow!

She wasn't kidding.. How dare she do this to me!?

They all looked so horrified.

Jagger tried to man up, but he was as nervous about the white stuff as the girls were.

IMG_1761.jpg

He looked around and quickly ran back inside.

Penny was the first one to cross the threshold without intimidation on my part.

Treats were thrown out into the snow. Penny loves treats

So does the dog, Koda

IMG_1668.jpg

Everyone gathered by the door watching Penny to make sure she wouldn't die from being in the snow.. Snow can kill you, ya know!

Ruth didn't seem to mind it. He wanted the chickens to come out and play.

Harriet wanted out, but the others kept blocking her pathway.

IMG_1730.jpg

McDonalds was the only one allowed to stay indoors. It was egg time after all.

IMG_1740.jpg

Macy finally went outside after some coercing.

Chloe watched over the ducks.

IMG_1749.jpg

You can't make me do it! I will not go outside!

IMG_1779.jpg

I did it.. I brought both boys outside. They were the last to go out. So much for protecting their girls!

IMG_1757.jpg

After they all were out, they stayed out until dark! The snow was gone when I woke up this morning, so I'm sure they are enjoying themselves.

Time required to kick everyone outside: 15 minutes. Food used to coerce: Christmas leftovers. Look of terror on Jagger's face: Priceless.

I Absolutely LOVE the picture of Jagger with the wind blowing at his neck. I seriously could frame this and put it in my bathroom when I start the redecorating. He just gave me the inspiration to do my bathroom with pictures of chickens I find on this site (With the owners permission of course). Would you mind if I copied the picture so I can print it and put it in a frame?

Evan thought it was much to cold to be outside, their coop is heated and stays warmer then my bedroom in the winter! lol

I like your variety! My chickens were terrified of snow last year....It was SOOO DEEP! I literally had to bring down the little lawn tractor plow, and plow out a place for them to range. I had a NHR get stuck in the snow, and I had to rescue her.......They preferred to stay inside the coop (which is OK because it's quite large and the attached run is covered too, giving them plenty of room). I would entice them out with scratch grains though.....

Aww!!

My silkies stick together like this too. My roo didn't go rescue Lorraine when she was being murdered by the snow
