Chickens in Slow Motion

Awesome videos! I always try to get a photo of a rooster flapping his wings, I like strong looking roosters. The rooster "trying to drink" is so funny!! And the fling pullet is so neat! How far do you think she had to fly? :O Wonderful job on the videos!

Very nice videos of "chicken mechanics".

One I would like to see is a hen pulling a worm. A few years ago when I got my first chickens one was quite fond of hanging around when I was digging. She would dash in and snag something I never saw, she was that fast. Sometimes I think the were ants or other bugs but she was also getting worms that were NOT on the surface. The only way I figured it out was one time when she didn't get it all the way out on the first try. Mostly it was "stab, swallow" so fast it was not possible to see in real time.

I'll do my best on this one. My girls just don't have any interest in worms, so it may be tricky to convince them to try. They'd rather just stand in the way and dig in the dirt when I try to dig out there, the brats. But I will see what I can do. :)

That crazy pullet probably flew about 20 feet from where I was standing. I have two 8-foot-long pens along the right edge of where I shot that video, and she took off just before the nearer one and landed just beyond the further one. :)

Ha ha! My Guinea fowl always flew about 18 feet out the barn door. I never had a chicken fly that far! That's neat.

Here's a fresh new video from this morning! My Partridge Rock hen, Fancy, scratching in the food dish. I was hoping to catch this action in leaves or dirt or some other medium, but every one of them stopped to give me strange looks whenever I hunched over with my phone. So, feed scratching it is:
