After FIVE years of asking, my son and daughter finally got their wish: Chickens! All smiles here, five chicks in my dining room, and now we're really on the clock! (no coop yet!)
DS wants to help Mom build the coop FROM SCRATCH (eek!) OK... I'm no neophyte when it comes to power tools, but between the chick-induced timeline and the undependable weather (and the fact that DS can only help on weekends) I'm starting to feel a bit pressed for time (and $$) so I'm looking on the Seattle Craigslist for materials or structures we can use.
We have friends who keep chickens and have been asking them for advice and now we're on BackyardChickens too. (Yay!) SO excited to be joining the flock -- Wish us luck!
