Chickens In Ya Window

Thanks! I sat for a couple of hours one evening last week, didn't see anything. Left the stand early, decided I'd go take care of the chickens before dark. Then of course I saw 3 deer over where my stand is, just at sunset. I knew I should have stayed put! I'll probably sit tomorrow evening, when I go check on the chicks though.

Bummer that your boy missed, but at least he got a shot. That first shot is the hardest! Will you get to take him back out this week?
Yes, we are going to go out for two more full days this week and maybe Sunday too. He could still bring one home. We had a great time either way though.

I'm leaning towards sun damage. It's just a couple of feathers, and appears to be the tips

Hate to say it, but that looks like leakage... I'd put him with the BCM's and breed the black and splash...

This is sun damage...

Not hurting my feelings, I wanted an honest opinion. The BCM were my backup for a faulty rooster, and that splash with the black hens will give me plenty more blue to choose from :thumbsup
Thanks for the insight

Knew it wouldn't hurt your feelings, just hated to say it, lol... I think that splash looks awesome though! :thumbsup

that splash is a good looking boy, and nice temperament. I'm glad my wife fell in love with him, because I was going to sell him. I'm dying to start hatching these. My phone blew up for the roosters, and I have a hard time selling any rooster. People were buying these to make EEs.
Do you feel that they are any easier to hatch than the BCM?

Put me on the list for blue Ameraucana x your Davis Marans for the spring! That's what Solo was, and I need a dozen to replace her! LOL

You're talking about hatching the Am's? Yes, easier than the BCM's but I still run them dry... they hatch best that way... but lots less DIS than the BCM's...
