No improvement... it's fighting for all its worth, but staying same...

and can't get more eggs now either... so really bummed... and breeding program hinges on a single bird now, and I really don't like that... always should have at least 1 backup...

Bummer. But if its still fighting, that is a good sign. It could have already given up. So...

Sorry Ruby, that's tough, especially the first one. It's never easy, but you get to the point that you realize it's the right thing to do.

And... no more whining. The tunnel is clear

Congratulations! Keep drinking a lot of fluids and flushing your system...lots of residual matter can be left behind just waiting to annoy you again.

I'm having flock withdrawal. I flew to Fort Worth this morning, meetings today and tomorrow, then flying to Indianapolis tomorrow night, then driving to Detroit on Friday. It's going to be a long week.

Still a work in progress, but a few pics of my new coop/building. The center building is for food, straw, etc storage, and egg collection. Coop/run on the right is the older flock's side. It has an automatic door on the run, and they free-range. Left side will have a much larger run for the LO's, when I get them moved. They won't free-range for a while. Here's how far it is from the house. The tree half-way in between is where I saw Big Guy fight off the hay bale. We were in front of the new building. I will paint it all red with white trim, going to add some trim to the door, etc... looks crappy now, but I'll dress it up. (wow, pic looks crooked too, but its not that bad :D ) Directly under the coop is now covered with siding, and from the footer to the ground is covered with wire, so they can't get under the building. They will be able to get under the wall on the back of the building. Their feed and water will be mounted and hung "inside". We will access the food/water from inside the building. Haven't decided whether it will be a solid wall inside, with a door into the feed, or whether we will just use wire to separate the areas. Here's the group, after they went in last night. Currently their food and water hang under the coop, but they will have access to the "food/water cave" under the wall on the right. We haven't extended the run to go over there yet. The PVC sticking out on the right of this pic comes from a gutter on top of the building, but will eventually feed a barrel inside the building, and will supply PVC tube waterers inside. Nest boxes from inside the building This pic was taken before we completed the lid on the other nest box. The back section is the area that the chicks will have access too.
That is awesome! Very nice :thumbsup
Finally!!!! Now I don't have to feel compassion towards you anymore.
:lau That is your best post ever :gig
