I don't think so. I love playing with combs and wattles. Lol!! I roll them around and squeeze them just like a dog's ear.....I am weird but I like to play with them. Lol!!!

Gee... I would have never guessed that about you!

But seriously, I love to play with my dogs ears too. They are like velvet. And I rub the chickens combs/wattles, but I'm talking about pinching/squeezing fairly hard.
Or maybe I just read it wrong... Hell I could have dreamed it...

Good luck.  I hope she's ok.  :fl

Looking at her wattles reminds me... I was reading the other day that wattles and combs are so sensitive that if you squeezed them between your fingers really hard, you could make them bleed.  Is that true?  I bet someone here has pinched a chicken hard enough to know...
Never pinched one, but pretty good at choking

@RavynFallen or anyone who can help me!!!

Does this look like fowl pox???!!!

400

Never dealt with pox, but anything that has perfect circular edges like that would worry me... perfect circles usually means virus or parasite type causes... :/

I meant that to sound sympathetic, not like you had done something wrong. I would be sick if I came home and found that.
Honestly, it sounds like that's what it is. I would separate her from the others and watch them for signs of an outbreak. It's not necessarily fatal, and can be treated fairly easily

I agree... I'd be sick if I saw anything like that... good digging for that link...

definitely separate :hugs

x2

It can be carried and transmitted by mosquitoes, and I know there are plenty of those down there.

Sucsk, but we can only prevent so much by not introducing new birds/quarantine etc... mosquitoes, biting flies, fleas, ticks, rodents, any wildlife... all can still pass things no matter how careful we are... :/
