I'm 393 posts behind and too busy at work to catch up. I had to take time off for a funeral, my son got a deer, city want's my roosters gone, and I got in a car wreck (not my fault). I'm fine though. Really I'm fine.

SC if you have time I would love a wrap up of the last 4 days.

I wondered what happened to you. Sounds like everything. Awesome on the deer, tell us about the roos when you can. Have you tried a no-crow collar? Cut my roo's volume about 70%.

Glad your son bagged the deer . sorry you've been having a hard time. Funerals are always bad . glad your ok from the wreck . you must have some loud roosters . think I would start looking at a country place. that really stinks you just got the really nice SLW too.

Walnut I finally got the hatcher inside cleaned the out side and started on the inside really not that bad .the element really looks new nice and shinny fan works wafer switch works it won't heat . thought the thermostat was bad so I straight wired the heating element . and still no heat . I must have a wire chewed into or broken where I can't see it . the wires I can see are all good none are corroded . do I take the back off or drop the fan support down to get it out ?not to crazy about taking the back off but it can be done everything is glued in place . I already pulled the drawer slides from one side . and will go out later and pull the other side .I'm giving it a good cleaning .want to make sure I get all the little cracks .

Remove the top by removing all the screws that go into the sides, give it a good pull to get it loose from the fan divider (also gasketed) and then you will have access to everything but the turner motor.

Does the pilot light come on?

Is it a single wafer, dual wafer, or electronic + wafer design?

Grab your ohmmeter and with the bator unplugged, take a reading at each end of the heater coil, on the clamps. I forgot to measure the resistance on mine, but it should be around 60 ohms. Definitely not infinity or zero.

looks just like that single wafer and electronic . the pilot light is on and when I screw the wafer in it goes off when I straight wired it the element that is it wouldn't heat . so somewhere there has to be a bad connection wiring is pretty simple . the only thing will be the cord. I think it will pull right out . you are right about it being loud . Can't wait to get it working all three are the same set up so I'll take anything I need from one of the others . thank you the picture helps a lot I know what to do now .at it again .
