Chickens not laying

I've never had a light in the coop or the run. I said they're two but a third of the flock is from this summer. We thinned the flock in the spring and they refreshed their own numbers by June (little ninjas dug a nest under a log and hid eggs while covertly sitting on it so suddenly there were all these little chick's running around.). And last winter it was actually harder, worse weather but they laid religiously. I'll see about putting up a solar panel to install a light but it is likely to be too costly. We might just have to thin the flock down to a handful of birds.
