Every day when I go in to clean my chicken coop, I find that the shavings are soaked where the older girls (1year olds) lay at night. There is usually poo around as well as to be expected. Just the shavings soaked as well as the boards. I have read the chickens don't pee, so to speak, so do they? From what I have read, chickens urinate via their poo, as the white stuff, but this is different from that. There is no color to it. I've noticed it more lately, I just started giving them OACV. I never used to have wet shavings and wet boards, what could have changed?

Are they sweating? Sometimes my chickens get really hot under them and sweaty.

I doubt they are sweating and there is no roof leak. Hummmmm.... Thanks anyway for the feedback!

Anything unusual in the diet?

I remember one person posting with pepto-bismal pink poo concerns, turned out she'd fed her birds an entire watermellon.

If it's hot and they have been drinking a lot of water they will have very watery poos. Also things like too many treats like watermelon, etc. will give them the runs. My girls always have very wet poos after eating certain things.

You might have a mice problem in your coop! We had one last year. The bedding was soggy in certain places and smelt strongly of urine.

Not a good thing.

Mine get really watery poos (almost pee like) when it was really hot out and they were drinking TONS of water. I haven't noticed it since I started giving them ACV in their water.

The only problem with the mouse thought is that the wet spot is right where the girls lay at night so I wouldn't think that they would let a mouse that close to them. It is always in the same spot and there is never runny poo around it. It would have to be alot of mouse pee!
