Any ideas for what to do about this? My chickens are picking the latex paint off my house/siding. I painted my house about 1 year ago now, the chickens have been given free range since about May and they are ruining my paint job. Is it toxic to them, not sure they are eating it, since I find big chunks lying about? How do I get them to stop?

You will have to block them off from it somehow.

Latex paint isn't toxic, per se, to my knowledge, but it obviously can't be good for them.

The little stinkers.

It is difficult, it is along the sidewalk, which butts up to the house, so can't really block it, unless I put like metal flashing along the bottom of the wall--won't that look pretty? LOL. This is my first experience with chickens, I had no idea that they would eat pretty much anything in my yard and then some.
