Chickens Rooming with Quail

Any feedback on folks that have attempted co habitating hens with quail? Same coop / pen. I know quail require different feed, but I was curious.

I've never tried it but some people have had success, some not as good out come.

It's generally considered a bad idea. Quail are susceptible to diseases that chickens carry but are resistant to, and the size difference makes quail likely to get picked on.

I managed to do it for a while successfully by using green fencing to separate an area of the run, until the acclimated a bit and I fed all my birds meat bird feed. As long as you are able to properly secure to prevent escapes and willing to accept the risks and consequences it can work

I saw a german Youtuber, she had successfully kept quails with Seramas, as Seramas are not that much bigger than quails.

She also used broody Seramas to hatch quail egges and raise the chicks.

I wouldn't dare it by myself.
