I’ve had a quick read of the thread and I don’t think there is anything constructive I could add.
I keep chickens under a rather different system and lots of stuff I see and methods I might use to address problems just don’t apply to a great many chicken keeps here.

Course, that’s never stopped me voicing my opinion though...
Maybe get a better looking rooster.

I agree that they should... but tell that to my free loaders.

Last year most of my spring chicks laid for like 2 weeks in the fall then molted. I was not impressed.
