Chickens vent clogged badly with straw

Feel her crop. Use your sense pf touch to feel if her crop is also jammed up with straw. If it is, she's likely clogged from top to bottom with a almost pure cellulose that can't be digested. If this is her condition, she needs surgery, and just crop surgery, which you can do at home, wouldn't clear the gizzard and lower intestines.

A molasses flush will not help if she has straw from stem to stern.
I've tried feeling her crop and it doesn't feel compacted, I thought that might have been it when I first saw her spit up, but it feels pretty squishy

Ar you up for trying the molasses flush? But first try gently massaging her crop to try to empty it. Circular motions aiming for the crop drain dear the lower one-third of the crop. Try to get it at least to half empty.

You will mix one teaspoon molasses in one-fourth cup warm water. She needs to drink it all to do any good. So be prepared to syringe it into her if she refuses to drink it. Do it like this:

Does it have to be black strap molasses or will regular unsulfered work just as well? I had actually just emptied what I could from her crop before coming back to check this. fair amount of burping with that too. It was vile.
