Hello my name is Crystal but people call me crys (Chris). My mom got into raising chickens about four years ago after my step dad passed away. Since then (and living next door) I've been watching my mom raise her 40 or so chickens well she asked me if this spring I'dlike to help her fix the runs for her chickens and I asked if I could have some. She said a couple but then I got to thinking no I want my own. So I'm adding a run and coop to her three she already has for my four Chickens she got me for my birthday. Then cuz she wouldn't give me her mille fluras she bought me five and then my sister lives in town and can't have a rooster so she gave me hers. So I have ten chickens in under a week. Im thinking I need an Australorp ( think that's how you spell it) anyways since helping with the chickens when I go out there or go see the chicks it has been helping with my severe anxiety and depression. They calm me down. I'm so excited to see what my baby chicks grow to look like. I'm not sure all the breeds but I know I have five bantam mille fluras, one rooster that's a black Japanese bantam, two black and white booted bantams, a black and a red one that my mom says will get bigger then the bantams. I'm still learning the breeds. Anyways nice to meet you all oh and a bit about myself. I live in mid Missouri with my hubbby and our three kids. I don't work at the moment due to memtal health issues. I love to be around my family and close friends and I love to do plastic canvas work and building stuff. I plan on making my chickens coop awesome by building them things to play in and with. Let me know if y'all know of any good things to put in coops or runs so chickens don't get bored.

Thank you. The piggy is so cute. We thought about getting a goat but I don't think so right now. We have three dogs. A corgi mix. A boxer mix and a red tick mix along with five cats and I think one is pregnant now lol

Hello Crys, and welcome to BackYard Chickens! :frow

Love the spelling of your shortened name, very unique!

I'm sorry about your mental illness, but at least you can stay home with your lovely family! :)
Thank you my sister was the one who started the spelling like that. She calls me kissypher though. I am blessed that I'm able to stay home and take care of my mental health. I kinda had to though. It got really bad last year and we decided that it would be best for me to care for myself for awhile.
