How old are the cockerals? I may be interested if you could also promise to sell me a hen or two when they hatch... To go with the young guy.

I could probably do that. I don't remember as there are several, I had hatches every week for almost 2 months- I think there is one older as well, but 3-4 weeks old.

can you update the first post to tell what time and the exact address please and what time is it running?
trying to do the newsletter and you dont have all the needed info there.

Can't wait!!!

pretty sad, but a bit of a giggle on the fact that there is no slaughtering or neutering LOL
you have to laugh

thank you dear for the info, will pass it on

I know, it is sadly funny, but good grief. It was as if he needed more attention. How many people ask for a intact boar? - oye.

Poultry club members know this for showing birds and this is a question I need to address. When you enter poultry into the fair, you have to have insurance on it. Not a replacement cost...but incase someone gets pecked, spurred or slips on a chicken turd...LOL

I figure if someone sticks their fingers in places they deserve to get BIT!

Hey Joanie_Maine (or anyone), do I (and others) have to insure our birds for these Basket Shows?

I mean, if I was to even allow anyone on my property to pick up Stanley, I'd put safety glasses on them! Even as chicks, flojo and Stan were a tag team on me! She would grab the mole on my neck and at the same time, he would try to grab that black dot in the middle of the green iris! EEEEEEEEEEEek!

Not only that but he has hopped on my head, pooped. Then leaning forward while he was perched on the glider, he shot a pooh, it landed down my neck AND down my tank top.

Too Funny....

My understanding on the insurance it's just for the fairs so far, all the 4-Her's have been required to have it and I always just added poultry to her list of critters. Club events have not required it so far, it may come to that at some point with people the way they are, I agree with you they should get pecked, if I were in a cage (where I need to be sometimes) and someone stuck their finger in there, they would lose it

The only thing I'm guessing that would be required for the basket show would be the blood test. I've gotten into the habit of just having a copy in my car/purse where ever, we always seem to have birds with us, they are with us more than the dogs
