chickenstock 2 for oxford maine- August 15th

Hi Hoppy, I read this, talked with Bill, interestingly he is telling that the H5N1 is a "high" alert (for lack of better term) a lot of people have died from it as we all know.
The "low" risk Avian Influenza has begun to mutate and cross poultry boundries with humans.
So what was once a simple condition is now growing into being a higher risk.

The way I look at it is to have my birds tested, unfortunately I want to know if I'm in danger. Having medications that lower my resistance I still want to see tomorrow. It would kill me to lose a few birds, but heck, I am one that wants to know.

Also, I'll say it, granted it will cause crap, I hope not, but I also asked Bill about the NH folks coming to the Maine events. To sell birds in Maine, you must have a Livestock dealers License and health certificates also NPIP.

The reason being is to protect each state from spreading and passing AI to each other. Now, the only exception (

) is if you are bringing in a bird for a show. Then a simple health certificate and NPIP testing.

Like it or not, its not "big brother" controlling, but it is a matter of being aware. Usually people that don't want to be tested have questions about their birds, or that is my opinion...But I've been clamp down before too by bigger stronger typers then myself.

There will be information at the Chickenstock2. Now, if those from out of state brought photos of their birds, front, side, back, then there is no leagle issue saying you cannot give out your phone number/address (be super careful! Please).

Either way, I sincerely appreciate all the condolences, it makes me feel good to have people out there that cares. Friday is the graveside service for Mom and its such a busy time.
I doubt there will be a chickenstock3, time, emotions and the legal aspects, I don't need it.

If someone would like to continue, please feel free to do so, I'd join in, but I'm tired.

Have a good evening and thanks again.
Kel

Cherokeerainbow Yes, welcome we will be looking forward to meeting you in Farmington. Make sure you introduce yourself!

Well, my head is finally off the ground. Had graveside service this morning in the pouring rain. Now we are all just exhausted and ready to sleep for a week. Still sorta numb, its really sinking in and next week when I go to the bank, town office to find out just how much $ on taxes and find out about the house and land. Say a few prayers for me, please. According to the paper work its mine, but who knows.
Can you believe someone actually called me and asked for a rain date for the funeral!!!!!!!!!?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really did need that comic relief, but gosh, no there are no rain dates, either the hole is dug or not.

So now kinda back to business. I have not put up posters yet, I did place it in CL and Uncle Henerys. Tomorrow I'll resubmit those adds and keep it up.

This week is processing. Man, I planned on doing it on Monday, but it had to get post boned for a week. I'll wait until DH goes home...he will do most anything BUT kill. lol.

Ok, you all take care and talk soon!

Spook;

Been through all the headaches of the after-funeral stuff three times. Seven years ago it was after my father's death, four years ago with my mother's passing and last year when my brother dies. Best advice I can give is have several certified copies of the death certificate. They come in handy when dealing with banks and government types. That and keep a sense of humor. It really does help. At least it did for my family. But then again we are a bit of a strange lot.
