chickenstock 2 for oxford maine- August 15th

I will be having a table with information, pamphlets and all that jazz, but I would like to make a contact list, not one to go to the state, nothing like that. I would like one for the use of a contact sheet. TSC will call and want to know who had what, where and if they have more to sell. Its not something that I want, but something I placed myself in the middle of.
From the past one, there were 7 calls looking for folks that had birds, rabbits and one wanted a cage, I'd like to say that yes they sell, or it was a one shot deal. Not only that, but it can then be passed on to the New England information circuit that Chickn does.

So, sign in if you like, make a comment on a type of bird you have/goat/rabbit/ostritch if that is the case.

I want to bring a copy of the NPIP test that Mr. Scooter had, he is clear- no doubt as with NPIP testing, there have been years of clean testing and lets keep it that way. Now understanding it, I'd reccomend everyone have their birds checked, then if there comes an egg born illness, your hind end is covered.

Back with the NPIP test, as for the copy and number your flock has, make sure the tester pushes down hard on the the pen while writing out the copy. The secretary that we had in Farmington at the Basket Show did a shoddy job and I can hardly read the copy!

Duh! LOL

This is looking to be a fun event! Of course the fun aspect is seeing all of the BYCers!

I won't be coming but can I get added to the list for having blue laced red wyandottes, gold laced and solid red- all cockerals- the extra pullets are leaving tomorrow. frizzles cochin bantams will have just a few to sell- probably all straight feathered unless male.

as far as your NPIP paperwork, not a big deal as the state will send you a card. you'll only need the papework if going to a show and you don't get your card yet.

Thanks, I was made aware of it 1/2 way through the job, but never checked again- duh. oh well, have a wonderful day and maybe next year this time, you will be testing for the club...heee heee heee.

Hey chickenstockers, I completely get amazed over the small, simple minds that wander around our country. With these hard times from unemployment to death of a family members, very little help is offered and instead of making Maine out to be the bad guys because we choose to follow the regulations and laws, then we lose "fun"?
Taking time out of our own square boxes that are perfect, and looking over the vastness of human error of caring and wanting to protect one another from the reprocussions of legal ramifications, I am guilty.
Guilty of sounding stupid, learning laws, sharing them with fellow BYCers, and making certain that the boardering lines of the states are made aware to protect others. It is only a matter of time before the local government steps in to see what is going on.
By taking the time out to teach, stupidity does not work when it comes to the legalities of crossing boarders, buying/selling, or trading birds.
Again and again, I get sick by the comments, pettiness and frustration that the world has with Maine- um, with me. Others in Maine are not targeted, only I have been targeted. Why? Who knows, guess its because someone out here is actually doing something besides making jokes and fun of others. Sad isn't it.
I only apologize to my fellow Mainers.

whats happening now? whats up. thought this was done

Wouldn't you think! Next there was another state that refered to Maine as a "Nazi state" and that got out of hand. I heard about it after the fact, but its so tiring. All states have rules, laws, restrictions and all that. So, once again, the crap started and hopefully stopped. I cannot imagine how they found our commentaries.
Either way, we are gearing up for another fun Saturday, Chickn, hope your weekend is going to be wonderful, let others take over the "heavy" work and take it easy on yourself. Get that little guy with all the energy to gather fir'wood 'n fishin' for Suppah! LOL
Oh also Chickn, I gave a fellow Mainer your email address for you to post the Augusta Chickenstock. Now, other then that, I believe that is the only new Maine news other then fairs- tis the season!

i must have missed it also,
fairs- fall- what? where is summer
i will check back, doing the sept issue now, anyone know anythng going on for sept?

Thank you Reignbeau, I apologize.

I agree with summer, this year seems to have been a total disaster. Gardens have really taken Heck, we have gotten a few round cukes - bitter ones at that, the tomatos are getting a fungus and the hens are growing webbed feet! Enough!!! Atleast we have had a few more sunny days but the T-showers have been some kinda hot, today is a scortcher from what I understand.
One thing about raising chickens this year, they don't have a fright issue with the wet. Strangely tho, no Coccidiosis. Last year we had it in all the chicks that we raised, even before being allowed to touch ground.
Hopefully all the rain washed those little buggers.

Yes, fair season is upon us, Skowhegan first, this weekend right?
And poor PRF's tires must be HOT!

...btw...I actually broke my foot 2 weeks ago. Brilliant- huh!
So, guess I'll baby it for a few more days, its healing with no medical attention nor cast. But, you can't keep a New Englander down for long.
