MikeS(erama) :

Just curious if anyone is going to be selling turkey poults at this up coming stock? Really looking for anything other than eastern wild and midget whites.

How young do they need to be? I have some 8-10 week old Bourbon Reds.

I definitely might be interested in them! We're looking at getting one possibly two. We're just not quite sure yet if we want a male (Beautiful feathers and body) or a female (eggs) lol Any chance you have some pics of them and if they are sexable at that age?

Yes, they're sexable. One of the toms just started strutting yesterday.

Here are some pics. I expect their coloring will improve with age. They are quite sociable. They're always the ones clustered around me when I go in to check food and water. This is my first experience with turkeys and I'm surprised how interested in people they are. You'll have to ask gypsy whether you'd be better off with a single hen, single tom or a pair/trio. I have 2 definite toms, 3 definite hens, and the last I'm fairly sure is also a hen.

I love turkeys! They are so much fun! I've found the toms are very, very friendly. I have one who hops on my back all the time, I think he thinks I'm his girlfriend. The hens are much shyer.
