Are you still interested in getting the LF salmons this year?

I know what you mean about too many breeds. I'm cutting back to just the favs.

Probably not this year anyways, unless we get set up better. Hubby does the out pens in the winter the barn worked great but he said we really shouldn't use it another winter it needs lots of work, it's on a slab and the boards on the bottom are starting to rot out from the moisture. Going to keep a few of the bantams just cut the numbers some

Plus they are getting a little expensive to feed with grain going up again.

Okay, when you want some let me know. I was going to bring up some eggs for you if you wanted any. I brought 2 Sussex hens and a couple dozen eggs down to Dick's today. He still has one of the red salmon boys and a couple of the hens. He didn't look like I thought he would! I should have taken a picture of him.

Hi Guys,

Who is going to westford and what are they bringing? Sorry to hear about the dog incident Shay . . .

What about the mods and the rock that I am interested in?? Are you keeping the diamond doves too?

Do you mean cornish

She is keeping her moderns they aren't producing real well, lost both her adult male birchens during the winter from accidents. Only have one lonely diamond dove think it's a female going to hold onto her for now she's easy to care for in the caged bird room.

Yes, you had mentioned she had one set a side for me!

That is sad about the moderns. This winter was hard on a lot of folks birds. I had battles with the respiratory thing till I gave the injections of Tylan and that cleared them all up with in 3-4 days. I even did a test suggested by Shay where i put a new bird in with 2 of the birds that I had treated for about 3 months to see if they got sick, but no one did, so they are not carriers of anything. Must have just been some kind of bronchial thing. I hope gas prices come down so you gals can come soon. Or if you want to send anything maybe Cindy could transport if I can ask her once she starts going to Maine again. Where theres a will theres a way...most times anyhow!
I cannot believe the price of grain! I have been considering cutting back on breeds as well. I think the oegs will be sold and maybe even the serama the end of the season. They eat a lot for a little bird for sure!

Yes, she still has your cornish girl. She's in the house in a big dog crate in the living room

We didn't have any problems with sick birds, we were pretty lucky there, just stuff like getting heads in the wire and a couple of predator attacks, one of her breeder males was older too and this winter the temps have been all over the place. Course I don't want to speak too soon this is the time of year they start having more problems with the weather up and down and stress.

The truck will be soooo much better on gas and able to travel again. We were going to go to the Little Rhody show but doesn't look good at this point.

Did you get a cabinet? If you want us to hatch some we can, our sportsmen is almost empty, only one row on the top rack full. Not going to hatch as many and they haven't started to lay real well yet, course we didn't do the lighting this year either like we usually do, light bill is getting higher too lol....

TSC and most Agways have them, both still air and the ones with a fan. Eggcartons.com is down your way too, I wonder if they allow pickup?

What a bummer. If gas keeps going at this rate, I hate to see what people are gonna do. How can they afford to go to work and buy groceries, pay bills, etc...something has to be done. I hear tomorrow is National Do Not Buy Gas day! For real!!
I am so happy to be getting the cornish! Yay!!!
