Shay or Jackie, I have a bator full of button quail that might be hatching mid week and I will not be here. Can I have Wayne call one of you if they hatch because he will not know what to do with them and that will be more dead buttons I will have on my hands! If they all hatch (50) can one of you take them for me and I will give you some for taking care of them or if you can find someone to buy them I will split the money with you??? There are a lot of different colors in the batch.

plans for me have changed as well. i won't be able to make it tomorrow. i really wanted to get down there for this one but family issues have come up and i need to stay close to home. good luck tomorrow everyone! i hope you all sell more birds/animals than you come back home with!

I'll be bringing a couple adult mini lops! broken chestnut and solid. Pure bred, very sweet

Would like them to go to a pet home or "mostly" pet home if you know what I mean. I would like them to be spoiled and get all the attention

I'll be all by my lonesome.... I'm surprised no one thinks I'll buy any chicks? I might be making a couple call back to the house

Sorry we won't see you Deb! I will be there, but I'm leaving most of the Favs home to grow out another month or 2 after all. Dick really liked the blue pullets I showed him yesterday and he suggested keeping the rest to see what they look like when they fill out. The Pontious salmon bantams look great also for the most part, and Laura and Sarah have first dibs on those. I will have plenty of cockerels but I assume they'll go to Tom, except for Mike's bantam roo. I'll have the ducks too.

I think I'll bring 2 one month old pullets from my ermine project. They look nothing like their parents.

ah, good to hear about you keeping the favs a little longer! i always worry that i'll sell off a good looking bird if i let them go too soon!

I'm being harder on the boys at the moment. If their toes aren't close to perfect then out they go. I was able to weed out 12 that way this evening, 15 went 2 weeks ago, and 15 at the last Westford swap. I still have plenty too - hatching far too many boys. Oh, and Dick took 3 of the bantam whites. I'm keeping one boy to put in with the black hen from Leisha. The black roo in there now has started back up with the aggression as did Sammy the splash salmon roo (he keeps attacking Jonathan). So they're going too.

Well me and Wayne just got back from the hospital and getting the first of our series of rabies shots. We had a guest in our bed with us all night! A little brown bat, so adorable. I checked him over and he had a dime size hole in his left wing membrane and the other had a pellet sized hole so not sure if he could still fly. I put him out at dawn and let him climb up the tree in the front of our property. At 4am my dobie got out of the bed and refused to get back on it and kept whining so I let him out, same thing 2 more times. Then when I got back into bed Wayne asked me what was crawling on his back!!! LOL Low and behold........

could they be trying to protect their girls or are they just suddenly attacking? i'm hoping my boy Pixwell will be good to his girls he now has in with him and not start showing any aggression towards me. he's been a little aloof when it comes to trying to pick him up lately. he used to let me pick him up all the time! his dad is still sweet to me so i don't see any reason he should become aggressive.

was Sammy from the Hat Trick lines too? or someone else lines?

I worked doing bat rehab in Lincoln, Mass as a volunteer in the 70's, so I know how to handle and care for them, but I am leaving for vaca Monday a.m so put him outside. My family was driving me crazy all day about getting rabies shots so to shut them up, we called my dr. and he said better to be safe than sorry!
