Chicks are dead :(

Sometime this evening, between 4:30-8:30pm, the chick brooder tub got knocked over and our chicks are dead.

My husband said they look like they were pecked to death. :'( The chicks were about 6 weeks old and our chickens, free ranging at the time, are almost 5 months old. Not that it matters, but was it likely the chickens that got them? Would they have actively knocked over the brooder tub and pecked them or what?

I just hate this.

OmG! I am so sad for you. My chicks are in that age range and I can't imagine them getting hurt like that. This chicken business sure has alot of pain mixed in the joys. Hugs to you.

, I feel your pain I had 4 beautiful babes and a black silkie that I absolutely adored they were all Murdered but a monster dog

My husband made it worse by joking about it and saying is was a criminal minds scene!

But again I am sooo sorry

I'm so very sorry.

. I'm sure it was the older 5 month old chicks that pecked the babies. It takes a while to integrate.
