I have a sebright that is sitting on eggs (and chicks) at the moment. 1 chick hatched, and 2 more eggs started pipping. One egg had a chicks beak sticking out, and the mother kept pecking the opening of the egg. Is this normal? Is she trying to help it get out? or is she just being aggressive? I heard the chick chirp loudly when she pecked.
She was handling the other chick fine...

She is a second time mother.

She might just be trying to encourage/help it out. It should be just fine. Keep an eye on her though.
I'm staying somewhere with TERRIBLE reception so BYC is barely working. Just letting you know that's why I haven't been on much. I might not reply to things very fast.

It literally took 2 whole minutes for this to actually post.

Thank you. I'll keep an eye on her.

Great news. 100% hatch rate! All 9 eggs hatched, and the one she pecked, I figured she was helping it out. She's a great mother. For a sebright, 9 chicks is sort of a handful. But she's happy after 3 weeks of sitting!
I'll try to get some pics tomorrow or early next week
