Chicks crop seems to full. Need advice!!

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that she died. Perhaps someone will be able to shed some light on her death, apparently something else was happening if her crop was down.

Maybe it cleared her crop but got stuck further down. I really have no idea. When she died she had barely any muscle control and when she did try to move she would get all twisted. 20mins before I found her she was walking around with mom but looking very uncomfortable and then I went back to checked her after 20mins and she lost control of her body and was almost dead. Maybe she was bleeding inside from the blockage or her crop had a tiny puncture and she died from infection. For 2 days she had real problem holding her wings up. They would drag on the ground. Any ideas if not from the crop blockage what it could of been? Any other ideas might be a good reference for the future if any of my other chickens have this problem again. Thanks for your posts!

Wish I could offer some insight, but I'm too new at this.
It does sound feasible though that there was a blockage somewhere below her crop.
Again, I'm sorry you lost her.

I'm so sorry you lost your chick, I know with me it never matters how new they are, or how old, it's sad to lose one. I would like to point out that the rice statement about it swelling up in their crops and stomachs and harming them is an old myth and is absolutely false, I don;t want you to fear you killed that chick with the uncooked rice. Snopes wrote an article on it: http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/birdrice.asp

Thanks for posting that, I had wondered about the rice too, now we know. I still don't think i would feed my birds uncooked rice though, but in some cultures it's probably been done for centuries and is okay.

It's a grain, it is just like feeding them corn or wheat. ^_^ I used to live in South Korea, and when preparing meals the ladies in my Ville always tossed a cup of the rice from their stores to their hens.
