Good gosh are they cute!! I have 2 Silkie eggs and 2 mystery-but probably Silkies added to my hatch at the last minute. My 8 yr old insisted, and then DH had to have them too. Now I see why!! I sure hope mine hatch.

ok guys I am out..

just found a really bright light and decided to candle. the light I used on day 7 and 10 wasn't bright enough...out of all 28 there's only 4 questionable eggs that I really do not have a good feeling about....airsacks do not look right kind of all over the top and sides of the eggs so...I guess no little fuzzy chickies for my little men and I. God bless you all.. I have really enjoyed following every!!! Congrats for all the new chickiesones progress in hatching and all the good pics!

i've been taking pictures like crazy today, hope you all will enjoy a few.

shelly and newbie wanting to come out of the dirty incubator

this is the cabinet that my husband and i turned into a brooder. we got it at a salvage store for only $5 and it was in great shape! just had to take one door off and add the chicken wire. i love it so much. notice my broody watching over her chickies, lol

this is the urgent care center where shelly and newbie are staying until they are fluffed enough to join the group.

shelly and newbie after a little brushing and some pedialyte. i got all the shell and membrane off both of them. they are interesting little chicks. neither one of them will sit down. they both want to stand as tall as possible. at first i thought maybe they're trying to get closer to the heat lamp, but maybe its not comfortable to sit? or maybe there is something wrong with them? they both sleep standing up whereas the fluffed ones fall right over to sleep, even if its in the food! oh, and these 2 chirp A LOT, i'm so concerned about them.

and just for fun. snickerdoodle in the frying pan! thats a wall decoration, not used for real cooking. my mom gave it to me and i love it to pieces.

Good evening, hatchers! I really need to get chick pics, they are just beautiful! Today I bought a flock of Silver Laced Wyandotte , so I had to drive to Covington(near Memphis). that took a while, had to get feed, etc. Then I spent all evening packing eggs but now DH is in bed so I will have to finish in the morning. Remember to vote for your favorite recipe and get your chick pics in for the contest coming up , you might win a BYC calendar !

not exactly sure but this is what i estimate my daily hatch was:
12/24 - 9 eggs hatched
12/25 - 11 eggs hatched
12/26 - 3 eggs hatched
total - 23

out of 33 set for lockdown, from the 42 since day one. i guess 55% hatch rate isnt bad for the first time. i definitely learned a thing or two. thanks so much for all the help on here. and the great contests and fun stories to keep my mind off the incubator.

Sorry to hear your hatch is slow. How are the temp and humidity? Deb

Finally one out...one of my EEs, will be called Ebbie (Ebenezer) . Also have at least 5 of 202roosterlane's RIRs pipping and peeping! They just did not want people to combine Christmas and birthday presents

Carol (RIR) just made her (

Knuckles (RIR), Noel (RIR), Heraldine (EE/mutt), and Holly (RIR) out now...more pipping...

Aww, these are great. Thanks for sharing. I'm still enjoying the new baby pictures. Keep them coming for those that are still hatching, or haven't posted any of theirs yet. They are so cute. And, I can get an idea of what I may want to get to hatch some day!

Had to come back on and say..that is a really nice brooder. Sounds like DH is a handy man. Isn't it fun to have one of those around, that really enjoy making things? My husband loves to work with wood. Or, do fix it uppers. Make it look nice.

I have a total of 3, not bad considering the 'bator had been turned off. I did lose a pip and one never pipped internally but I'm glad to have my 3 sweet chicklets.

I see they are listed as hatching on Christmas Eve, they actually hatched Christmas Day my time which was Christmas Eve your time so you can list them wherever you'd like.

I'm voting for Coconut Custard Pie, as a Celiac I love that I don't need to do anything to it and it's simple and sounds delicious! I'll be trying in in the next few days.
