I got a couple of chicks from a hoarding situation. They are silver-laced Wyandotte’s from McMurray hatchery, supposedly female and 8 weeks old. The feathering would indicate otherwise, I think. How old would you say these chicks are? There are three pictures of each chick.

They actually look right around 8 weeks to me.
I guess my perspective is skewed because I have 6 week chicks with a broody and they’re all substantially more feathered than these two. It’s been a couple years since I’ve had chicks indoors.
Look about that. In cramped and stressful conditions, especially if any have coccidiosis, the birds may be feathered less than age would be too
That makes sense. Thanks for pointing that out. No signs of coccidosis so far, I’ve had them just over a week and a half.

I think they're pretty good to looking like they should. Mine either still have fuzzy heads or are mini adults about that time depending on the weather, if they're from a big batch or if I had to treat them
