I did not assist but a couple of times the temp got to 104 during the night it's just a homemade incubator I was just trying to get some morechens from my eggs idk I guess I messed up sucks

if it was yolk nothing you could have done to prevent it. its a learning experience, keep on reading and researching how to better your hatches!!

Well I think the yolk sac ruptured the chick died and when I picked it up it's belly was covered in yolk

Yes it was very sad but amidst all the excitement I didn't check the coop all day when I went out to shut them up I found a broody hen in the nest and she is sitting on 25 eggs so mother nature took over thank goodness!!!
