Looking for advice. This is my first time raising chicks. I bought 10 and received 11 pullets. I received them on Thursday. This morning I checked on them before going to work and two were dead. My husband got home this morning and another was dead and one or two are dying. They were vaccinated. They are kept inside on pine shavings. There what is changed/cleaned daily with the pen cleaned every three days. They have a heat lamp and the thermometer says 100 with the lowest temp being 85 on one side. What else can I do?

Where are the chicks from? Have you checked their bottoms for pasty butt? Also how old are they? I would try and heighten the heat lamp to get a better temp in there lower to 90°.
I got them from Mt. Healthy Hatcheries. Their hatch date was the 25th and I received them on the 26th. My husband checked them for pasty butt and he say no signs on any of them. They are 5 days old if the hatch date is correct. I’ll try and get him to heighten it.
