So I have four chicks under my broody hen, hatched yesterday and today. When I had chicks in a brooder I left a low light on all night as I read they shouldn’t go all night without food and water. So my question is this- after tonight when they are still ok with the yolk sac should I try to give them light at night even though they are under a broody hen and not in a brooder? I’ve never read that anyone does this but how can they be ok under a hen all night without food and water but not in a brooder?
