Chicks pecking feathers out?

This may be a stupid question--but are you sure they're not just growing in their back feathers slowly? Sometimes, especially with cockerels, it looks that way as fluff becomes inadequate and feathers haven't begun proper growth.

I’ll try to get a good picture of them. The one that has the worst is the smallest of them all.

They do get shabby looking..Is the Brooder getting too crowded?..Do they have enough entertainment in the Brooder?

I do think they’re getting a bit crowded in the brooder. I have 4 Wyandottes that are at least 12 weeks old and want to incorporate them into our flock so I can use their brooder. I’m just not sure how to go about that. Our Roo met one of them and was a bit aggressive towards her.

Look no touch pen for a week and then introduce as they free range..

It’s still snowing off an on here so I’m not sure if it’s warm enough for them out in the coop. I’ve got a lot to learn about raising chickens still.

That’s what I was telling my fiancé, but he’s extremely attached to one of them and wants her to be a house chicken. Lol, I told him no.
Get them outside today..They need to be Chickens and the stress of being cooped up is not good..He can visit it outside..lol

Lol, it’s pretty nice out today so I’ll try that. Can I just use chicken wire to build them an area to themselves to integrate them?
