I was all excited, 12 feather footed bantams were to ship today to be received in time for my birthday. Called the post office and had everything arranged. Half hour later, mypetchicken called and said that there had been a hatching problem and they would not be able to fill my order until late September

Have you checked out Meyer's? That is where I ordered my chicks from and they let you order with a minimum of 3.

Thanks, I will check them out

Right now though, we are thinking we will wait until next spring when there is more of an assortment to pick from and they will have a long time to grow up before winter

Just gotta look on the bright side sometimes!!!!

Enjoy those new little fuzzy butts...they will steal both yours and your kids hearts!

I got 33 chicks from Meyer a week and a half ago--they are so healthy and beautiful. They are great to order from and to deal with in general. I raised six Australorps in the spring from TSC and they were nice, but not as sweet and docile as these Meyer chicks. Several of the BR come to me to be petted or picked up every time I approach the brooder. That NEVER happened with the TSC chicks. One BR girl comes running every time she sees me, pecks my finger one time, then nudges my finger with her head until I scratch her head and back--she always falls asleep!

MPC gets their chicks from Meyer. When there is a problem hatch, Meyer customers come first, before the MPC orders. I ordered speckled Sussex from Meyer two weeks ago. Another BYC member ordered SS from MPC from the same hatch day. He got a call that there had been a bad hatch and they would have to substitute his SS, but I got mine.
