Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Casey looked up when the door opened and smiled at her then chuckled when she jumped a little. "Hey, ready to see what's for breakfast?" He asked as he straightened from the wall. He didn't mind how she looked before or the messy topknot now, he thought it was kind of cute really.

Amara smiled and nodded, "I am starving." She replied happy to be going to breakfast with him. "I think I startled Adrian and Willow just now, I feel kind of bad, I hope they were sleeping still when I burst threw the door." She said with a nervous laugh, worried she may have been a bit rude when she had come in earlier. She looked up perplexed as to why she mentioned this, then she realized she felt comfortable around Casey. It was totally natural for her to just mention what ever was on her mind with him and not worry so much about whether what she said made sense.

Casey chuckled at the mental image that brought up and walked with Amara. "I bet they forgive you with no problem. They seem pretty nice." He said, thinking of the time spent all together the previous evening.

Amara nodded, he was probably right, she hoped. The last thing she wanted was to upset her new roommate. Her stomach growled and firmly brought her attention to how hungry she was. "Wonder what they will have for breakfast today." She wondered aloud, she was still getting used to be at the school and didn't know if they had a menu that they went through or if they just made whatever. "Hm I could really go for some waffles, or pancakes, or both."

Amaryllis looked up at Haley, expecting to be scolded for her actions, but was instead surprised by her caring gesture. "Much better today, thank you for asking." She replied apart from her momentary shyness.

Dyrus took the opportunity to look to Vasper curiously while they spoke together. He noted that Vasper almost seemed valuable standing next to Amaryllis. At least where Haley was concerned. He'd been surprised when Amaryllis had offerd him a calming gesture of her hand. But not as surprisingas when Vasper took it without hesitation. He hadn't seen that before, Vasper generally didn't like to be touched unless he initiated it.

Vasper felt Dyrus's gaze upon him. He looked to him and followed his line of sight to him holding Amaryllis's hand like a grounding tether. He smiled shyly to his friend, but wasn't ashamed in the least.
"I'm glad to hear that," Haley said honestly. She guessed it was more than meds making Amaryllis happy, if the looks between her and Vasper said anything. Taking a step back, she gave a respectful nod towards Vasper. "We should probably get going, and let you two get to your own breakfast."

(I replied to this but it was never posted. Sorry.) Iris laughed out loud at the two, declaring to Atalanta, "Priam's it!", as she ran to move towards Atalanta, so they would be together for Priam to catch rather than having to go for one person in one sole direction, that made the game boring.

Victor walked down his hall with his hoodie on, hood over his head and head downwards. He didn't like talking to people in the morning, making a few exceptions here and there but the general rule being no

Atalanta squealed once more as Priam reached for her, narrowly missing. "You can't catch me!" She called gleefully.
He had purposely missed, of course. There was no fun in a game ending within seconds. He slowed down to catch his breath and let them get a head start.

Lucy gathered her books, making a neat stack of them in her backpack, then headed out for an early breakfast.

Dimitri shrugged and said with another wide yawn, "Studying in the library with the lovely Alexis."

" Is it coincidence that our temperaments align perfectly? I think not! " Ashton stated as she peeked a royal corner to see if the way was clear.
"Studying," Zaine murmured skeptically. Those two couldn't sit still long enough to study if their life depended on it. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and planted his feet firmly on the ground, holding Dimitri in a hard stare as he did so. "Well, good for you. I hope you had a pleasant evening, which I'm guessing you did by your tone."

"I wouldn't say perfectly," Allen teased quietly. He poked his head out over hers to see as well.

Nova stopped and looked to him then down at the ground. "I know. You push others away just as I have done. I decided to try again this year, but nothing has changed, those that I like get hurt. Leverett could have easily died, you could have." The only two people she cared about and both had nearly died after she tried to be friends with them. This line of thought was so not helping.
"Leverett will die, eventually. And so will I." Anuerin reminded her firmly, holding her gaze in his. "You can't change that, but what you can change is how you use the time that is left. You keep yourself distanced from others to keep from getting hurting, but when the people you care about die, you won't have the comfort of memories you shared together, but instead the regret of what you could have done while they're alive. Go ahead, protect yourself from being hurt but remember you're not the only one will suffer the consequences of your choice; Leverett and everyone else don't understand why you won't be their friends, he probably his hurt by the fear that he isn't good enough to deserve your attention." Anuerin took a deep, shaky breath when his speech ended. To any other person his words might have sounded harsh, but as someone who had been very close to death he knew Nova needed to know the truth; if people kept from hurting her emtionally the time she had left could come to an end without being able to undo all the failures and regrets she would live with in eternity.

"One way to find out" Casey said and looked to the doorway as they reached the dining room. He let her go in and followed to get a plate and pick from the available foods.

Iris wasted no time and headed down the shoreline. She hid behind some palm trees, knowing very well Priam could see her, but it provided her with some sort of headstart because he would have to go around it.

Victor nodded to one of his friends in the hallway, before entering the lunch cafeteria for breakfast. He served himself some oatmeal quickly, before sitting down at an empty table, setting his backpack down on the floor.

Nova stared at him as he spoke then sat again, frowning at the table. "I had a friend when we were younger. We were very close, did a lot of things together since we both grew up here. That didn't stop her from jumping, didn't make her death hurt any less than seeing you hurt or seeing Leverett hurt." She spoke quietly, not looking at him as she did.
