Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

(Four, love is a four letter word ;) )
Laurel smiled at him, not with humor that he didn't understand, but pride that despite being from two different worlds he was willing to try to understand new things because of her. "It's a human emotion, Razeth. And nothing Ryker can do to you can take away your capability to love." Laurel explained gently.

(Time skip?)

(I edited it, but you'd already quoted it, so it was set in stone. :plbb )
Razeth took that concept in and processed it. He smiled softly and nodded, "Yes, I do believe that's true. It's far beyond his reach, even with his scalpel." He said with playfulness sincerity.

(Sure! Where shall they meet again? )

Seeing that Anuerin had known the the full ramifications of his actions, it struck a nerve with Ryker. "And yet you still profess that you care so deeply for her. That you would protect you from anyone, even me! Yet you'd have her at the mercy of those bumbling fools and overworked doctors at a civilian emergency room? Anuerin, I'm even more disappointed in you. You're smarter then this. I have my flaws, but at least I'm trying to make a better race. Humans can be so much more. We can't always wait for evolution, sometimes we have to encourage it. And with that it takes sacrifice. Don't be so small-minded, look to the bigger picture, the possibilities. It's the betterment of humankind and we are in the forefront of it all, my son. Let me help your sister live... just tell me where she's at." Ryker replied with heartfelt sincerity.

Aneurin smiled grimly. "She means more to me than the betterment of humankind!!!" Aneurin shouted passionately, but knew his father would never completely understand.

"Anuerin, your views are analog in a digital world. Obsolete at best. You'll never understand my point of view. I do realize sentiment is important to you. But as a physician and pioneer in my field of study, I can't be marred down by such petty emotions. They tend to get in the way and motivate one to do stupid things." Ryker replied with mild annoyance. His son always had that effect upon him for his lack of vision. It almost made him wish that Sebastian was his son, at least his ambitions aligned with his own. He sighed softly and shook his head at his errant thought. Wishful thinking was just as bad as being sentimental. "Let's go." He ordered tensley.

Anuerin did not care that Ryker was disappointed in him, if he had made his father proud it would only be for a action that inflicted pain on someone, and he didn't want to achieve his goals, no matter what they were, with someone else's blood as Ryker did, unless it was his own. "No." Anuerin replied unwaveringly, knowing that his goal of keeping Amaryllis safe would mean the loss of his blood, whether not his goal was achieved.

Laurel faked a smile for his attempt at humor, but a shiver instinctively crawled down her spine, the words overtaking her attention with a memory; a nightmare of a memory.

(I don't have any ideas at the moment, can you think of anything?)

"No?!" Ryker asked darkly. He then straightened as he tried a different tactic. "Did I fail to mention who is accompanying my teams that are following your back trail? Have no illusions, where technology fails to follow, Dyrus and Vasper can. You know well their abilities of tracking and subsequent bloodlust when the find their prey. I double up on everything Anuerin. I leave nothing to chance." Ryker replied with a calmness that showed the truth of his statement. "Perhaps I'll let them put the girls out of their misery when they do find them. I do have to make an example of someone. And since love has made you weak, perhaps the absence of it will make you strong again. You are not the martyr of this scenario, Anuerin. Only a cautionary tale that will resonate throughout Lord Laboratories for the rest of your days. Now come, and I may rethink their limited future. It's completely up to you. Now how do you feel about their outcome fully based upon your decisions? You're not so smug now, are you?" Ryker said with a measure of satisfaction at out thinking his clever son.

Razeth regretted his words as soon as evoked Laurel's response. "I'm sorry." He murmured and embraced her within the safety of his arms. " Abject fear was not my intent." He soothed softly.

(Ummm, how about in the training facility? She could let him have it. ;) )
Leverett was practicing his fencing in the training facility. His imaginary target was getting all he had to offer.

Dimitri debated between the two cooks for their best option. He nodded to the male and said, "That one there. That way if my negotiations go south, you can get your flirt on and save the day." He then fluttered his eyelashes for emphasis and smacked his lips in a kissing fashion.
"Wow, I thought better of you," Alexis chuckled. "But I must admit, it's not a bad plan. Male it is." She pulled Dimitri forward with her towards the counter.

Amaryllis nodded in silence. She wanted to be positive, but with her body quickly decreasing in strength she was beginning to doubt that they would find someone to help them.
Haley concern was growing but was soon eased as she saw a couple walking of a building. She gave Amaryllis an indication to wait and then she hurried across the street to talk to them.
"Hi," she said a bit shyly, not having been around civilians—with the exception of the hunter—for so many years. "My friend is really sick and we can't seem to find any signs of life here, except for you two of course," she explained, worry obvious on her face.
The man looked to the woman, who nodded slightly, before he replied. "There's a hotel at the end of the street," he told her before quickly hurrying his lady along. Haley thanked them and returned to Amaryllis. "Hotel is this way. Can you make it?" She asked.
