Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Sophia's eyes lit up, and she responded "That sound nice. Want to go now?"

"Why not?" He smiled, walking to the door, unlocking every bolt before he was able to open it.
As they stepped onto an open street, Haley snapped out of her little flashback. There was something in the wind that struck her as odd; it didn't belong in this place, yet it was familiar. "I think we need to split," she said suddenly.

"Please, I don't want to." Amaryllis whispered fearfully, though she would do it anyway if that's what Haley thought best to do.

Sophia smiled pleasantly at him and walked outside, waiting for him to come after. She enjoyed the fresh air and cool breeze of the morning.

Haley looked to her then to the road before stepping back into the alley to re-evaluate her planned path. "I don't want to either, but I think we have a better chance this way. If anything, at least we can slow them down," she explained. She bent down and, taking a pebble from nearby, drew in the dust. "Look, you keep going on this. I mapped it out earlier from above and this should be the simplest safe route." She looked up at Amaryllis for an answer.

Closing the door behind him, Zaiden approached the creek that ran along the cabin.

Amaryllis mentally noted the map Haley drew in the dirt for later use. "Ok, I will." She said, hesitantly separating from Haley to follow the path she had been shown.

Haley scuffed through the dirt with her shoe. It wouldn't cut the trail, obviously, but at least it would hide the path she had just sent her friend on. With Amaryllis going the most direct path towards the tree line, Haley set off on one much more indirect that would hopefully throw the men off, starting back down the alley they had just come from. Alone, she could go a lot faster and she made quick time around the block.
