She had all but tuned him out, lost somewhere in her own mind. She didn't know what happened but occasionally it did, she zoned out. She had stopped in her tracks, eyes vacant, frozen in time almost. In her mind the walls were dripping blood, blood on her hands, not hers others, she had caused this. They had pushed too far, asked too much and she gave willingly until it broke her. How many had she killed, how many had she maimed, no this wasn't real, this wasn't true. Yes she had killed, hell maybe she had even enjoyed it a little but this death wasn't her. Her internal struggle for what she had become against what she once was left her rooted in her place as it played out behind her eyes. She heard nothing he said, she was frozen.
