(I know right.(That makes a cute mental image)
Donella hid her face in the small space made by her arms and knees, not answering him for a long time. Then she sighed and glanced to him "If you are going to then do so." Not a ringing endorsement, but she didn't want to be nice right thenZaine sighed softly, his conscience telling him to fess up rightly. "I may have phrased that slightly wrong. Andorra let me bring you a tray of food she fixed so that I could talk to you," he said honestly, or at least as honestly as he remembered it. "Can I come in?" He held his breath as he waited.
Casey chuffed and watched her get comfortable, snuggled close against his side. He liked this, having her there, it took away his loneliness. He rested his head against hers and closed his eyes, taking in her scent and relaxing with her.Amara chuffed happily and butted his hand with her head. She was weird but she liked being petted when in her bear form, at least by people she trusted. After he shifted and went to lie down on his makeshift den, leaving her plenty of room. She padded over to him and circled a spot next to him a few times before dropping to the mattress with a thump. She then leaned her shoulder into his much larger form and wedged her way until she was snugged up against him. She gave a happy sighing sound to show her contentedness.

Zaine cautiously nudged the door open with his heel. The sight of her, curled up and upset because of him, made him feel absolutely horrid. He approached the bed slowly, setting the tray down in front of her then taking a respectful step back. "Would you mind if I sat?" He asked tentatively. He felt rather intrusive, standing above her like he was.Donella hid her face in the small space made by her arms and knees, not answering him for a long time. (wait for morning?)(AWWWW bear pile.)
Amara sighed contentedly as Casey rested his head on top of hers. She had always felt more safe in her bear form, better able to deal with threats. Although the scars she bore reminded her that even like this she was vulnerable to something. With him there, bigger and stronger then her, it gave her a sense of peace she hadn't had in a very long time. For once she wasn't afraid, she wasn't worried about what might happen while she slept.
Donella looked to the tray then back to Zaine, moving a hand to motion towards the other bed in the room. She didn't like how being stood over like that made her feel even smaller than she already knew she was. She quickly hid her face again, half wishing he would just leave. Why are you here? She wanted to ask, but couldn't get her voice to work to say the words. He had already hurt her twice and she couldn't get the nerve to speak to him now.Zaine cautiously nudged the door open with his heel. Zaine sat down slowly across from her. "I know you probably don't want to see me right now, but please, hear me out," he near pleaded. Leaning over, he placed his elbows on his knees and dipped his head. "Truthfully, I had no idea why you were upset and mad at me. Call me ignorant or mean, but I swear I didn't mean to upset you. That's the last thing I'd want to do. The thing is, Donella, I like you." He glanced up at her for just a moment before returning his gaze to the floor. "But I thought you were indifferent, so that's why I was avoiding you." He swallowed nervously as he continued staring at the floor, awaiting her reply.Donella looked to the tray then back to Zaine, moving a hand to motion towards the other bed in the room.
