Zaine was on his way to the cafeteria when he realized he’d forgotten something from his room. He had just decided to get it after breakfast when he spotted Ares, the little twit who had made Alexis so upset yesterday, heading for the cafeteria as well. Zaine quickly decided against his previous decision and took off for his room.
He found the book he needed there, but he didn’t leave immediately. He wanted to give Ares time to get in and out of the cafeteria and in the meantime, maybe Dimitri would show up. He’d been to their dorm this morning; the mess in the bathroom clear evidence of that.
Zaine tossed a towel over the rack then went to poke his head into the hall to see if anyone was coming or going. As of his last encounter with Dimitri, he wasn’t quite sure where he stood on Dimitri’s I’d-like-your-neck-between-my-jaws scale. An unfortunate bonus of sharing a room with a moody tiger.
