children under 5 shouldn't be around pets

My daughters pedi told me the other day that she was surprised that the Zithromax didnt work right away on my dd's double ear infection.. since she hadnt been on an antibiotic since 2004! She had to go to a diferent class as strong as she could to get the ear drum to begin to look better. People dont understand the super germs they are building by over medicating kids. And that it hurts even those kids hat ARENT being dragged to the doc for every sniffle.

My MIL told me that I would have to get rid of our dog and cat when we told her i was pregnant. Because "cat and dog hair is bad for babies"
She would have died if she had seen our cat snuggled up next to dd in the crib when she was 2 months old.
She has been playing in horse poop and out in the fesh air since she was a baby. I wouldnt have it any other way

I grew up with pets and animals and a lot of outdoor activities. I'm happy I can provide the same experience for my kids. We all live in the same circel of life and we have to be thankfull that we all can share this.
People today worry to much. They need to worry less and live more. Enjoy life while it last.

It's a sad world when animals are unhealthy and chemicals are the way to go.
Since when did the way of nature become dangerous and the way of man become healthy? I rescue parrots and I don't use chemicals in my home to clean, But I guess I have my share of pet dander and parrot left overs. My children did have snakes,rats,cats,dogs,lizards and other things that they tended to drag home at any given time. They are very healthy adults now.

If you want your kid healthy don't send to daycare! My kids never get sick from the animals, but send to daycare and oh my god do they get sick. The likely hood from getting sick from another child is nearly 100% yet I don't see them recommended getting rid of large daycare centers. At one center my daughter ended up hospitalized 3 times...finally got daycare changed to a different center...much better....and this is not isolated. Each year many children contract significant ie hospitalization from illnesses caught at school and daycare...my other kids all healthy pets, dogs, cats, bunnies, chickens....no GI bugs, my 4 yo one bought with GI bug, my 8 yo and 11 yo have only had one episode here...but food poisioning twice with dad. The sterile environment with no exposure to less pathological bugs is getting are kids sick..

Our biggest problem is that in to many cases we trust science more than common sense and what history has to show us.

I have no problem with anti biotics and such. But they are pushed on people. On parents. And honestly, most parents shouldnt be parents. Not an ounce of sense between many of them where I live

Isn"t that the truth!! Have you ever seen so many commercials for drugs and procedures??!! There are more and more every year. That will tell you right there that these are HUGE money making industries and not some non-profit organization or a government mandated announcement. This is someone who's trying to make money off of us.

Taking some medicines are important when they are needed but I have to agree with this poster. Things have gotten way out of hand.

When was the last time you've seen a commercial for carrots or boccoli? hahahahah What a shame.

Yep, people complain about 'big oil' but Exxon only makes 6-cents on every dollar you pay for gas (50+ cents goes to the government, I forget, when did they did the drilling and refining

), whereas pharmaceutical companies make 26-cents to the dollar.

back to Original subject: my aunt would send the kids into the street to play (when that was actually safe, but there's another topic), me in my baby roller and bare feet. Always had cats and dogs growing up. I'm perfectly healthy. Dirt builds immunity!
