Chinese New Year Hatch/February 3 2011

You could always just hatch with us anyway and hatch early.

I just love hatching in a group is all. Not to be pushy or anything.

I started an extremely eggsperimatal hatch yesterday. A total crap shoot just for interest. I have 17 eggs of indeterminate age or breed flown halfway across the world in checked luggage, complete with x rays and baggage abuse and any other bad scenario that one could imagine. One batch of 8 is normal unwashed commercial eggs of various sizes and the other 9 is the organic version. I will candle on wed. next week to find out if lighting struck and I should buy a lottery ticket. Was cracking eggs for breakfast and saw they were fertile so i thought what the heck and brought some home. Customs let them pass which was a miracle in itself since I declared them thinking they should/would be confiscated. (Jakarta to Canada). If anything good happens, they are due on the 26th.

If they are white eggs they are most likely leghorns and if they are brown they are most likely barred rocks. Those are the two most common for store bought eggs.
